Slender Salamanders is the name often given to Plethodontid (lungless) salamanders of the genus Batrachoseps. They are distinguished from other lungless salamanders by their four toes on each foot.

Desert slender salamander - (Batrachoseps aridus or Batrachoseps major aridus)
Black-bellied slender salamander - (Batrachoseps nigriventris)
Channel Islands slender salamander - (Batrachoseps pacificus)
Kings River slender salamander - (Batrachoseps regius)
Relictual slender salamander - (Batrachoseps relictus)
Kern Canyon slender salamander - (Batrachoseps simatus)
Tehachapi slender salamander - (Batrachoseps stebbinsi)
Oregon slender salamander - (Batrachoseps wrighti)
Gabilan slender salamander - (Batrachoseps gavilanensis)
Santa Lucia slender salamander - (Batrachoseps luciae)
San Simeon slender salamander - (Batrachoseps incognitus)
Lesser slender salamander - (Batrachoseps minor)
The taxonomy of this genus is still uncertain. Some species may in fact be subspecies of others, and some subspecies may be distinct species of their own. Genetic analysis is in process.
