Westover is a borough located in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 458.
Geography
Westover is located at 40°45'4" North, 78°40'20" West (40.751017, -78.672239).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 7.1 km² (2.8 mi²). 7.1 km² (2.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 458 people, 169 households, and 123 families residing in the borough. The population density was 64.3/km² (166.7/mi²). There were 182 housing units at an average density of 25.6/km² (66.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough was 98.91% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.44% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.66% from two or more races. 1.31% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 169 households out of which 37.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.6% were married couples living together, 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.2% were non-families. 24.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 3.21.
In the borough the population was spread out with 29.3% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 29.0% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 14.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 111.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.2 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $21,691, and the median income for a family was $26,786. Males had a median income of $27,917 versus $17,750 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $10,866. 20.5% of the population and 15.5% of families were below the poverty line. 22.6% of those under the age of 18 and 10.0% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
