Electoral division of Huon The Electoral division of Huon is one of the fifteen electorates or seats in the Tasmanian Legislative Council. It was created in 1999 however similar electorates of this name have existed since 1900. It has an area of 6,162 km².
The electorate of Huon includes the local municipalities of Kingborough and the Huon Valley.
Localities with in the boundaries include; Margate, Franklin, Huonville, Bruny Island, Snug, Cygnet and Howden.
The electorate has 24,539 enrolled voters. The current sitting member is independent Paul Harriss.[First Preference Figures by Polling Place - Final Figures, Tasmanian Electoral Commission, May 2008] The next election is due in 2014.
Notes 1. David Calvert died shortly after taking office.
2. Michael Hodgman is currently a Liberal member in the Tasmanian House of Assembly, however at the time of his election to the Legislative Council he was an independent.
3. Peter Hodgman later became a member of the Liberal Party.
4. Harriss was a Liberal candidate for Franklin in the 1996 Tasmanian election
