Danava

Danava (pronounced DON-UH-VUH)Danava at Kemado Records is an American hard rock band from Portland, Oregon. Their music fits into the categories of heavy metal, progressive, and psychedelic rock. Their songs often feature a boogie or a gallop. They have sections that riff intensely as well as break free into jams. The vocals are of a cleaner melodic tone rather than the more gruff approach of most modern metal.

Biography

Danava formed in 2003 by Dusty Sparkles, Buck Rothy, Dell Blackwell, and Rosy Cross. Dusty and Buck had known each other as teenagers in Quincy, IL, met Dell later and moved to Portland, OR where they met Rosy. They put out a demo together in 2004.

The position of keyboardist was one of a revolving door. And Dusty Sparkles actually played 98% of all the keyboards on both records.

They have toured with Down, Acid Mothers Temple, Witchcraft, and Glasscandy; played 2008 Roadburn festival in the Netherlands; and released a video for "Where Beauty And Terror Dance" which was aired on MTV2's Headbangers Ball.
